❓ Issue/Question
- I would like all users who log in and go to the collections to see the media with the tags on by default, and that they do not have to choose to display the tag themselves.
- Users see a Spotlight tags row in the media card filter and in the Display options menu, but the row stays empty (
—). They look for a way to mark an individual tag as "spotlight" and cannot find one. - Is there a way to make a tag stand out, for example a usage tag such as editorial use only, so users notice it while browsing the media?
👌 Resolution/Answer
- A tag can't be highlighted when opening a media. The way to make it stand out is to display it as a spotlight tag on the media card, in a predefined color, when scrolling the Media Library or a collection
-
Make the tag group eligible
- Go to
Configure→Taxonomy - Open the tag group holding the tags you want on the card
- Edit the tag group and enable its display on thumbnails + click Update
- Go to

- Every tag inside that group is now eligible to appear as a spotlight tag
-
Enable the display option to make it appear on every media card
- Open the
Media Libraryin Card view - Open
Displayoptions - Click the eye icon next to
Spotlighttags so it is active.
- Open the

🔖 Notes
- Typical use: usage or status tags that users must notice before using a media, such as editorial use only, copyright or approved
- Spotlight tags are only visible in
Card view; they don't change how the tag appears inside the media detail view - How to create a new Tag Group?
- What spotlight tags are?
- Spotlight tag not appearing on media thumbnails
