❓ Issue/Question
- What is BYOS?
- Who should use BYOS?
👌 Resolution/Answer
- BYOS (Bring Your Own Storage) lets you keep your original media files in your own cloud storage (S3, FTP, etc.) instead of ScorePlay’s managed storage
- ScorePlay still stores the media metadata and runs the platform
- The file URLs, downloads and original files point to your storage
- BYOS works with any cloud storage provider, such as Wasabi, Azure, Backblaze or AWS
- BYOS is useful if you:
- Already use a storage provider other than AWS
- Have large media archives you don’t want to migrate
- Want to use negotiated pricing or existing storage contracts
- Need to combine on-premise infrastructure with cloud storage
