How does the "Tag Access" field in a user's settings work?

In order for you to edit the tag restrictions of users, the Users > Can edit users permission must be enabled on your account.

  • I am checking a user's settings and would like to set the tags the user can access. What does the Tag Access field do?

 

👌 Resolution/Answer

  • The Tag Access field sets which tags the user can access
  • The user only sees media with the tags added in Tag Access. If the field is empty, they see all media

 

  • OR logic: several tags in Tag Access
    • When you add several tags, the user sees all media that has at least one of them
    • For example, with Training and Media Day, the user sees media with either tag
    • Use it to give broad access across several types of content

 

  • AND logic: combining tags
    • You can also set an AND rule, so the user only sees media that has all the tags
    • For example, to show only media that is both Training and Media Day, add both tags with AND logic
    • This narrows the results a lot
